Tocoferol

Effect & Use of Tocopherol

Tocopherol, also known as vitamin E, is an active ingredient in cosmetics and an antioxidant used in cosmetics, perfumes, and fragrance products. Vitamin E is well known for its antioxidant properties, which help protect the body against harmful substances.

Since the human body does not produce vitamin E, it must be obtained through food. It is found in fresh vegetables, plant-based oils, grains, and nuts. Naturally, vitamin E is most abundant in the skin. Tocopherol helps reduce the risk of sunburn, limits cell damage caused by UV exposure, and strengthens the skin's barrier function. At birth, a baby’s vernix caseosa contains a high concentration of tocopherol.

Vitamin E also enhances the penetration of other active ingredients in skincare products, allowing them to work more effectively deep within the skin.
